Ice cream anyone?

My friend Ashley came up with the brilliant idea to have a craft exchange for our two oldest girls once a month. She lives in Maryland, so this is a fun way to keep in touch. For last month, (I know, I'm slow posting about it) I decided to finish these felt ice cream cones that I began LONG ago.
The finished cone.
I made the ice cream removable so the kids could "scoop" it on.
The waffle cone texture up close.

Sprinkles on top, the finishing touch.

This is what we've been doing lately . . .

Eating popsicles on the trampoline.
Playing in Sleeping Beauty's house. (Who knew she lives in a teepee?!)
Climbing lots of stairs

Enjoying the shade (and the sun)!

I'm loving this good weather and so are the girls!

Birthday Celebration

Ella "talking" on the phone at Aunt Ali's. Note the apron - Perris' Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle from his childhood.
Addie went on a walk with Uncle Perris and picked some beautiful flowers. She gave me a lovely dandelion, which Ella promptly stole and ate. Addie is wearing her Easter dress that I made. I'll post a full-size pic of her and Ella in them one of these days . . .
The feast of curry and naan that Ali and Lynds prepared. It was delicious! James was at class . . . we met up with him for dessert and games at our house though!

The beautiful and delicious trifle Ali and Lynds made.

My birthday was a good day. James started the morning off by surprising me with a breakfast date to Ihop, while the girls were dropped off at Ali's. We enjoyed breakfast together and went on a shopping trip. We came home with a bag of mung beans to sprout. :) What can I say, I'm a bit picky when it comes to purchasing things. BUT, I had a great time with James, we don't often get to go out together alone. THANKS ALI & LYNDS!

Easter Egg Hunt

The first egg of the hunt!
My lover and I watching the excitement.
Addie kept exclaiming "This is my FIRST egg," even after her basket
had many eggs in it. Such a character!
Eating the loot with Aunt Katie

We spent some time in Logan this weekend visiting the Stones/Whicker family. The Easter festivities included a lot of good food, Conference, running after children, finishing Easter dresses (post to follow), getting up in the night with children, making more food, visiting,
and running after children.

Sometimes it feels like traveling just isn't worth it. Just like I told myself today as Lyndsey and I dragged a bawling Addison out of a store because she was confined to the stroller because she ran away AGAIN. I hate shopping with children. :)

It was worth visiting though! We love the Stones and the Kelleys. Next time we'll try to stop in Kaysville and visit the gpadres there.

Happy Birthday Lynds!

This is a bit belated . . . sorry. I've slacked in the blogging department lately. Lyndsey turned the big 19 last month and we celebrated with her and a few of her roommates.

Some of you don't know Lyndsey so I'm going to describe her in a few words. She is the one wearing orange in the picture. (Believe it or not, this was the best picture of the lot!)

She IS:

Funny, dependable, generous, loving, so selfless, diligent, hard-working . . .

I love you so much Lyndsey. Thanks for all you do for me and my family. I've really enjoyed having you living close by and will miss you a lot this summer.
